The Reversal Of Discouragement
Discouragement is the loss of confidence and courage, and that happens not when you doubt yourself or others, but when you doubt that applying any principles will work for you. The result is that you take yourself out of the fight of life. Climbing out of discouragement is a reversal of the same way you got into it, which is by multiple disappointments. Therefore, you need little achievements to build yourself back up. Your soul needs a steady stream of good news. You also need to fall in love with the principles, which means reading non-fiction books about the areas of life that you’re dealing with. If I find someone that’s really discouraged, I can almost guarantee they don’t do a lot of reading. If they did, the knowledge of principles and absolutes would offset the way they exaggerate their circumstances.
