Kids Complain, We Work

When you grow up, it’s supposed to mean you stop acting like a child.

But for a lot of us, we hang on to one aspect of childhood…

If you have kids, you know what complaining sounds like. We give to our children because we love them, but when you combine what they receive at home with what they receive in society, it can easily give rise to entitlement and expectation.

Then they complain when things don’t go their way.

I never permitted this with my kids. Such attitudes must always be countered, and it must be done so immediately.

This is what correction means: it means to adjust something for a different, or better result.

In other words, correction is not about being angry. It’s not about vengeance. It’s about instruction. It’s about changing attitudes and behaviors in order to create a better result.

So, what are we correcting? We’re correcting our complaining.

• Complain: express dissatisfaction or annoyance about a state of affairs or an event.

• Whine: a feeble or petulant complaint.

• Petulant: (of a person or their manner) childishly sulky or bad-tempered.

Why do children complain, and how often are their complaints justified? Why then do we believe our complaining is justified?

We ourselves have become bad-tempered and childishly sulky. We’re acting like children.

And responsibility and government goes to adults, not children, and this is why a lot of people are where they are in life. Yet, they believe they should rise the top anyway, and complaining is how they get their way.

Our objective should be to turn whining into work and bitching into building. #MetalUp 👊💀🤘
