What’s important when dealing with disappointment is not denying it but rather not letting it turn into something else: discouragement. There’s a big difference between disappointment and discouragement. You can push past disappointment, but if you’re discouraged, then something has been taken out of you. Discouragement means a loss of confidence and enthusiasm. It means to be dispirited—to lose one’s spirit, drive, and vitality. You essentially become like a body in a coffin. The life is gone. That’s why we must change the way we see and handle disappointment.
