Why do we like certain movies, and why do certain characters carry personal meaning for us? Why do we still like Star Wars after all these years, and why do we still feel something when we hear “Gonna Fly Now,” the theme from Rocky?

Remember when you were a kid and lived out the movies you saw on screen? Wasn’t it like becoming something greater than yourself for a little while? You got to be the hero. You got to defeat the villain. For a little while, you were transformed because you were “inspired” by characters and stories you saw.

Inspired by Something Greater Than Yourself

This is what inspire means: it’s to stimulate, motivate, energize, and animate as if you’ve had air breathed into you. To be inspired is like the old video game Super Mario where Mario eats a mushroom, is made bigger, and starts to devour everything in his path. Or, as I like to say:

When you’re inspired by something greater than yourself, you become something more than you are.

The truths, wisdom, and principles that make the most impact on our lives are those that come to us by story, character, ideas, and myth. That’s why we love those movies. That’s why a character like Rocky can get us to the gym quicker than a class about working out. We need something more than information. We need inspiration in order to truly motivate us to follow through on transforming our lives.

That’s the subject of this NEW 5-video series on The Power of Inspiration to Transform Your Life. Once again, I’m joined by my son, Joe Ortiz, filmmaker and videographer, and we break down some powerful principles and insights on mythology, archetypes, ideas, stories, and more and how they can impact your life.

This 5-part series is shown in my private Facebook coaching group, but I always show the first episode of each week’s series here for free. Watch Episode 1 below now:

If you’d like to join my Life Domination Private Facebook Group, you can learn about it here. It’s only $19.97 per month, and that provides you access to all the videos—as well as the archives of past teaching series—as well as an invitation to the private Facebook group where the videos are shown.
