Success is something to be reached, right? It’s a destination that we’re trying to get to, but if you’re trying to get somewhere in your car, isn’t it important to know your existing location? If you don’t know where you are, then your destination is unreachable.

This is obvious when you’re navigating a trip, but it’s not so obvious when you’re navigating your life. Most people know what success would look life for them, but one reason why they’re not reaching it is because they don’t know the status of their current position. They think they do, but they don’t.

We need to be positioned for success which means we need to be better situated in our present situation in order to launch towards the destination we desire. The word “position” means the way in which your life is placed or arranged, so if your present life is a mess, what chance do you have of reaching something greater?

If someone continually lives in the past, and their present is governed by what happened in the past, how will they ever become the type of person that can dominate a better future? So long as they remain in their current position, they’ll never reach the destination, or success, they desire.

In this 5-message series Positioning Yourself for Success, I’m breaking down what it means to define your current position in life and to determine you’re going to change it. Again, if the goal is to reach your destination of success, then rearranging your present is priority!
