Courage is “the ability to do something that frightens you,” therefore courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the ability to move against what you’re afraid of because you have as much or more strength as you do fear.

This is the KEY. Courage is the strength to move into fear, but that doesn’t mean you’re fearless. Therefore, the secret is not to try and tell yourself not to be afraid, but rather to focus on building your strength.

In fact, you don’t even need to consider your fears anymore, because if you focus on building strength, your fear will take care of itself.

Fears are Giants

Have you ever noticed how many stories there are about giants? Whether in myth, religion, or modern movies, stories of giants are everywhere.

But what is a giant?

A giant is “an imaginary or mythical being of human form but superhuman size.”

In other words, “giants are exaggerated forms of something real.”

Isn’t that what fear is like? Aren’t most fears just exaggerated interpretations of our circumstances?

Giants are Within & Without

We all face giants both inside of us and outside of us. They are those intimidating things we keep putting off or refuse to face.

Well, it’s time to face those giants of fear, but the reason you can’t is due to a lack of strength.

Remember, courage is the ABILITY to do something that frightens you, so again, the key is to build up your strength because strength will convert to the courage you need to conquer your giants of fear.
