Here’s how I look at dreams…

There’s a voice inside you that’s calling you to something greater. There are images deep in your imagination that almost torment you because you want to see them fulfilled. These are the inner manifestations of your dreams, and they don’t usually go away no matter how old you get.

Your “dreams” are your aspirations, which is why they’re different than goals.

For example, weight loss is a goal but owning the business you always wanted is a dream. Paying off a car loan is a goal but playing music for a living is a dream. Dreams are a richer, fuller, more fulfilling ambition than a goal. Goals can be part of dreams, but a dream carries so much more with it than simply reaching a target.

That’s why I want to talk to you this week about why you should take your dreams seriously, and I’m going to deal with the usual things we tell ourselves about our dreams such as, “I’m too old,” “Maybe one day,” “If I only had the money,” etc.
