If I went to my Metal Motivation Facebook page and wrote the question, “Are you feeling down lately,” I would be flooded with comments. I could also got to my Facebook page and post something about goals or peak performance and get little response. If I post about feeling down, sad, worried, or the like, I’ll get a ton of response. If I post about improving your job performance, I’d get crickets. This is just where most of my audience is nowadays.
Why are so many feeling so low? There are a number of reasons for this, and although everyone’s situation is not the same, there are common issues that affect all of us, and there are solutions we can implement today that can bring great transformation to the way we feel.
One of the foundational reasons as to why people feel so down is their diet. Why is this? It’s because you can’t really separate the mind and emotions from the body. If your bloodstream is filled with sugar; if you’re carrying a lot of extra weight; if your adrenal glands are pumping; if you’re insulin resistant, you’re going to feel like crap.
You won’t be sleeping well. You’ll feel fatigued. You’ll have digestive problems. You’ll have heart problems. You’ll have brain fog. You’ll be sluggish. You’ll have a myriad of issues that you think are the result of something serious when it actuality a lot of your symptoms would disappear if you just ate healthily.
I’m at a place now where I cannot guarantee a coaching client real results if they’re not willing to address their nutrition and exercise. It’s just too important.
