When we think of someone who’s controlled by their emotions, we think of someone flying into a fit of rage, or someone who’s crying all time. Those are extreme examples, but we all can be controlled by our emotions, but we don’t realize it’s happening because it’s more subdued. However, the end result can also be destructive in the long run.
That’s why we must “learn to discern” our emotions and how they gain their strength. Emotions don’t have their own eyes, ears, or hands, so they only follow the dictates of your consistent thoughts and beliefs. Fear, for example, is an emotional pain created by a false belief, and that’s a good example of how emotions work. Whatever thoughts you have represent the beliefs you have, and when those thoughts and beliefs are captivating your mind, it activates your emotions whether bad or good.
