I am always dumbfounded when I hear grown adults say, “I’m bored.” The last time I said that I was probably twelve years-old, and I learned never to say it around my parents because they were quick to put me to work if I mentioned that I had nothing to do.

We tolerate boredom in our children, but how can we tolerate that in ourselves? Boredom means “having a lack of interest,” and to me, that is the best explanation for why people are bored or make a poor use of their time.

Signing a Contract with Mediocrity

If you have no deep-seated interests driving your mind, you won’t pursue anything. You’ll just go to work and then sit in front of the television or waste time hanging out with others talking about useless things. All the while, the clock is ticking on the only life you’ve got. It’s as if you’ve signed a contract with mediocrity to settle for who you are, what you have, and what you’ve accomplished.

Is this you? Are you settling for who you are, what you have, and what you’ve accomplished? If so, that’s why you’re tolerating seasons of boredom.

Maybe you’re not saying you’re bored, but how are you using your time? Are you wasting it? How much television do you watch? How much time do you spend on social media? How often do you talk on the phone engaging in gossip or other pointless discussions?

To routinely waste time is no different than the person who says they’re bored. It’s equally the result of a “lack of interest.”

Interest, Passion & Pursuit

Boredom sounds like a minor issue, so why devote a video series to it? It’s not a small problem. Boredom, or wasting time, is a symptom of a deeper problem, and that problem is a lack of interest, passion, and pursuit. And why is that an issue? It’s because without these passions, then your potential and abilities will eventually be buried in the ground with you. Is that what you want?

That’s why I’m devoting an entire week of videos to the subject, “Why are You Bored When You Should Be Busy?”

These videos are being shown in my Life Domination Private Coaching Group, but I always show the first episode of each week’s series here for free. Watch Episode 1 now:
