If I had any criticism of the self-improvement industry it would be the fact that it’s “all think and little action.” How do I know this? Simple.
If the best-selling motivational books are volumes like The Secret, then you know it’s far more about thinking than it is action. How so? Simple.
Books like The Secret are only popular because they appear to offer a short cut to success. That’s why you won’t see a bestseller about work and responsibility. Who wants to buy that?
The Law of Action Beats the Law of Attraction
Am I saying the law of attraction doesn’t work? I don’t know. I can’t prove it consistently, but what I can prove is the law of action: if you take persistent action on proven principles of achievement, then you will create the results you want.
Thinking is good, but thinking with action is far better, because it’s during the difficult seasons when you’re seeing little results that you’ll need positive thinking to help you keep going.
I’ll take the law of action over the law of attraction any day of the week, but the ideal way to real achievement and lasting change is thought AND action!
