“Sometimes the best way to get out of your funk is to get pissed off and productive. Remind yourself that you’re still a badass!”
We all get in a funk. We all get stuck in a rut. We can all get to that point where life gets pointless—and we see no way forward—and the enthusiasm we once had seems like it’s been drained out of us like blood. It’s almost like we’re stuck in a vicious cycle of defeat and we see no end to it.
First of all, you need to realize that whatever you’re feeling or facing is not permanent. By that I mean, that feeling of being in a funk or stuck in a rut. It truly is “all in your mind,” and although your circumstances may suck at the moment, that doesn’t mean your attitude should also.
In fact, the key to getting out of this season is found in your attitude, and that can change with your next thought!
Meditating on the End Result
Here’s what I do. I get pissed off, and I create that by meditating on the end result if I remain where I am. That’s right. I envision how much worse my life will be over time if I DON’T change my mindset.
Then, I envision what my life will be like if I take simple actions now. I begin to picture in my mind what would happen if I got aggressive. What would happen if I ignored my “funk” and just started taking action anyway.
The end result is that things would change for me, and those results would reinforce my better attitude and keep me moving to greater levels. Soon, that funk would be a memory!
Release the Badass Inside You
Here’s the question to ask. Did something really change in me, or did I always have that badass inside of me? You know the answer. The badass was always there, but it was covered up by a bad attitude, and all that was needed was for me to get pissed off!
Isn’t that how getting angry happens sometimes? You can make yourself pissed off and bitter over someone when they aren’t even in the room and they haven’t actually done something to you. You can easily get yourself pissed just by speculating over what you think someone else is saying about you behind your back!
THAT’S how much power your mind has over your emotions and attitude, and the point here is to start using that power for constructive reasons and not destructive ones.
How Much Do You Truly Value Your Life?
How much is your life really worth to you? Are you willing to donate another day of your precious life to bullshit, or do you value your life enough to get pissed off and productive?
Once you get pissed off, and you start taking action on something, you’ll shock yourself out of where you are, and you can begin to create the momentum you need right now.
Let me encourage you to take a few moments today to shock your system by meditating on the end result if you remain as you are. Really visualize it by making it larger than life, and then follow it up with a vision of what life could be like if you started taking the right action steps.
Watch how quickly your attitude changes. Metal up!
