If you are not any closer to your goals, or you’re still battling with the same bad attitudes, the same fears, the same hang ups, or your usual lack of confidence, then there is only reason why: self-defeat.
What is self-defeat?
Self-defeat is when you become an opponent to yourself. You become a rival to your goals, an adversary to your hope, a competitor to your focus, and an enemy of your progress.
Who needs enemies on the outside when we are so good at being enemies of ourselves? But why would we do this? What’s the root cause of our self-defeat?
Two Reasons Why We Defeat Ourselves
- We become an opponent to ourselves because deep down we don’t BELIEVE we deserve success.
- We repeatedly quit because we’re afraid to cross our “line of confidence.”
We all know that every great achievement requires a lot of hard work, but we can make it ten times harder by bringing in the question of whether or not we DESERVE to have what we’re working for. This makes quitting easy.
If guilt doesn’t get us, then we have to cross that “line of confidence,” which is the point at which we always talk ourselves out of working on our goals. Your line of confidence is the place where you’re thrown face to face with your fears, worries, guilt, and stress.
How do you defeat your self-defeat? That’s the subject of this week’s 5-message series in my Life Domination Online Coaching Program. Here’s what we’re covering:
