The shackles are in your head. That’s where it all begins and ends. If you want to know the truth, you can be “better than you,” and that’s the goal. The only one you’re really competing against is yourself. The only enemy you have to defeat is the one that stares at you in the mirror every morning. That’s the one that can’t be trusted when he says, “You’ll never change.” That’s the one that needs slapping!
Here’s the metal rule in this instance: never take crap from anybody—especially yourself. The problem is that we do take too much crap from ourselves, so we rarely have to worry about taking it from someone else. These negative voices have created chains that bind your mind from taking life to the max. Break em’ off! They’re made of plastic.
